When you think of the famous stair, the picture that comes to your mind usually follows a certain design. Maybe it’s the metal or the wood that seems really simple in its design but if it also has some small steps at the bottom than it can be a really interesting décor item. You might even fall in love with it and you just want to have it at home, when you travel. It’s a great place where you can go if you like the finer things in life, where you know it’s there, ready to do it.
The great thing about this staircase is that it’s a very large piece and that means that each step has its own place and it looks very much like a pile of treasures. The steps are made of black timber and the whole image is very impressive. However, it doesn’t look like that of the staircase, not even when you analyze it.
The staircase was designed by Enrico Franzolini for Minacciolo and it’s a part of the Salvadone collection. The collection includes a staircase, storage units and floorings. Minacciolo is a modular system and it offers a modular solutions that can be adapted to the space and to the requirements. The goal was to create a system that would incorporate all the different pieces and components and to create a cohesive structure. The staircase sits in a box. The floor and the main elements are made from the same materials and they are very similar. The only difference is the material and the dimensions.
The design and the look of this unit is modern and minimalist, a refreshing change of look for staircases made of other materials. The staircase features no cables and electrical wires. It has a singular shape, reminiscent of a stair, with an irregular flow. The staircase also features stainless steel clips that prevent the metal from getting Budapesti-colored. It sounds dramatic but it’s not actually true. There’s nothing fake or visually striking about this apparently simple design. It’s just a great way or something to hide the staircase’s location. The closed portion of the staircase can remain open using small metallic hooks. It’s a very clever and ingenious way of hiding the staircase.
