Italian architectural firm Damilano Studio Architects & Planners has designed the House in a hill.
Completed in 2012, this sumptuous one story contemporary home is located in Piedmont, a town in Piedmont, Northern Italy.
House in a hill by Damilano Studio Architects & Planners:
“The house was designed around a plot with views in three directions – north, south and east. The shape was optimized as a cube with the floors of exposed concrete ascending the up to the concrete patio in the south tower. The organization of the different rooms as well as the different solutions were carefully planned all over again with the proper consideration of the terrain, the customer needs and contemporary needs of the client.
The facade in the ground floor is covered with wood slats, the same in the rest of the house. The kitchen faces the patio and the living area to make the most of the superb views. The windows are long and thin, with square-shaped “yards” as main elements that connect the exterior to the interior. The water runs in several streams through the sloped sidewalls, through the terraces, and finally finally finally towards the house.”
