The next residence we are going to show you is a diamond house located in the middle of Mudeung-ho, South Korea. Designed by the Dutch architect Jean De Vries, this house is surrounded by thick vegetation, thus bringing the beauty of the hard landscape into the house.
On the first floor the house can be accessed by a metal bridge that spans over two storied gardens, several steps that guide you to the minimalist and contemporary interior volumes pierced by a skylight. On the south side of the house there is an open space that includes the children’s rooms and the grandmother’s dining room. This space is connected to the roof garden through three big windows.
On the north side there is an old milk warehouse finished in brick. Very close to the barn, the house has a stone wall that allows you to see the old factory and still life exposed inside.
The house’s materials and the modern interior décor reflect a harmony achieved through elegance and subtle colors, a theme through which various elements like the staircase, the staircase railings and the floor have their role.
