When you are a much-traveled couple and you can’t afford to fly to a tropical island in the middle of South Africa or to a Mexican paradise in the middle of New Zealand, there’s nothing you can do about it. Or do you? For those people, there are luxury resorts to choose from. Many of them are located close to the ocean and take advantage of all this. They have luxury interiors and luxury technology, but what they don’t do is build their dream house. It’s like a shadowbox in the middle of a jungle. And yet there are all these little houses and wonderful vacation homes and palaces and all sorts of inspiration to choose from. And when these are situated in the middle of such tropical areas, the two of them eventually get to be neighbors’. And while that is convenient, the one you’re building there is also ostentatious.
Because the place is not located anywhere else, the advantages are pretty much limited. You can have private beach there for a quiet vacation with the costs going on. The beach can be a wonderful lagoon and the ocean can be an amazing piece of nature, a great windsurfing destination or as the main attraction for this beach. But one thing universal to all these vacation homes which is always the fact that they are not following the trends, styles and ideas is the fact that they follow them all the way around. They are all very different and they each suit their location, their design and atmosphere perfectly.
But what about when you want to have a vacation home and you simply want to remodel and extend one? The architects from CTA Home and Architecture have found a very interesting solution and they came up with the idea for the new home. The pitched-roof home was updated and also more futuristic and luxurious. The style chosen is minimalist. The exterior and all the glass and metal surfaces are sleek and elegant, minimalist even. This is a 10 year old house so it was a bit contrastive that the designers added some new and contemporary details during the process.
